Poznan University of Medical Sciences: Master 5-year D.D.S. Program

Master of Dentistry or 5-year D.D.S. program is designed for international candidates who have graduated from high school, and who have obtained good grades in: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English. The curriculum for the English five-year D.D.S. program at Poznan University of Medical sciences follows the one taught to the European students.

Upon completion, successful students will receive the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery, D.D.S. 6-year MD Program in English
Pomeranian Medical University in Szczecin offers 6-year MD Program in English at the Faculty of Medicine for international candidates. Predominant students are from European countries (preferably EU citizens who speak fluent German) and especially German citizens.
The curriculum in Medicine consists of six years of studies. First three years (preclinical) of studies are oriented on such sciences as: Morphological sciences; scientific basis of medicine and Preclinical sciences. The curriculum of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry consists of five years of medical and dental courses. The duration of the program is 10 semesters, with total number of 5 000 hours of lectures and practical classes.

Medical University of Gdańsk 
The Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) provides education to over 6000 students, PhD and postgraduate students. International students constitute of 10% of MUG students and represent. The University conducts classes in English for students of two degree programs for international students: Medicine Doctor and Master of Pharmacy.

Faculty of Medicine at Medical University of Gdańsk
The Faculty of Medicine was established in 1945. It includes also dentistry division and offer MD program in English aside polish programs. Its goals are inextricably linked with the centuries-old tradition of medical and natural science practices in Gdańsk, particularly in Gimnazjum Gdańskie (Gymnasium Gedanense) founded in 1558, and later given a more academic name (Gymnasium Academicum sive Illustre, Atheneum Gedanense).
The Faculty of Medicine offers education in three majors – medical (homogenous 6-year MSc studies) and medical stomatological (homogenous 5-year MSc studies), as well as dental techniques (3-year 1st degree BSc studies). The Faculty’s high level of education was confirmed by the Accreditation Committee for Medical Universities working at the Conference of Presidents of Medical Universities, and by The State Accreditation Committee, which granted the Faculty a 5-year-long accreditation for both MSc majors. Moreover, classes in the medical major are also conducted in English (since 2002).
Aside from organizing practical classes aiming at preparing students for their profession, and postgraduate studies, the clinics perform highly specialized diagnostic and therapeutic services, not only for the people from the Tri-city and neighboring towns, but also for the whole of Northern and Central Poland. Research in both elementary and clinical analysis is undergoing constant development. In the ranking of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education for 61 medical faculties and institutes, the Faculty of Medicine MUG was awarded first place in the category of medical research units.
Faculty of Pharmacy at Medical University of Gdańsk 
The Faculty of Pharmacy Medical University of Gdansk has Laboratory Medicine as subfaculty and primary goal is to educate Masters of Science and Masters of Medical Analysis who will be able to face the growing competition connected with the fact that Poland is a member of the European Union.
The Faculty of Pharmacy educates students in two majors – pharmacy (homogenous 5-year MSc studies) and medical analysis (homogenous 5-year MSc studies). The Faculty’s high level of education was confirmed by the Accreditation Committee for Medical Universities, which granted the Faculty accreditation for both MSc majors. Medical tuition fees at University of Gdańsk 
Medical study in English tuition fees at University of Gdańsk is relatively acceptable compared to fees practiced in USA, Canada or Australia.
 
Tuition fees for M.D. program:
Tuition fee for the first year of study: PLN 43000 (approximately 1100 €) per year;
Tuition fee for the second to the sixth year of study: PLN 40000 (approximately 9600 €) per year;
Tuition fees for 5,5 year pharmacy program:
Tuition fee for the first to the fifth year of study:  PLN 30000 (approximately 7200 €) per year;
In addition to tuition fees, students may consider also admission fee and orientation week fee, respectively PLN 2000 (approximately 500 €) and PLN 1000 (approximately 250 €).
Admission and orientation week fee should be paid by 1st September and tuition fee for each year should be paid in two installments: tuition fees must be paid first by 15th October and second by 15th February.

Admission procedure to Medical University of Gdańsk

Candidates from countries outside Poland and Israel interested in studies at the 5,5-year Master of Pharmacy program (English Division) should register in electronic candidate database and submit a completed application package by regular mail to the Admission Office at the Medical University of Gdańsk between by meddle of July.

All candidates are obliged to take an entrance exam in biology and chemistry at the level of high school. Entrance exam will take place on 1st and 2nd of August 2013 at Medical University of Gdansk. Candidates will be selected by the Admission Committee on the basis of their final scores from entrance exam, scores from High School Diploma in biology and chemistry and optional score from additional oral examination (Admission Committee’s decision).

Jagiellonian University Medical College

The first students of the School of Medicine in English (general medicine and dentistry) at Jagiellonian University Medical College were admitted in October letter. Six year letter, nearly 600 students from five continents and twenty countries, predominantly from Norway, USA, and Canada were enrolled in the School. English divisions of Warsaw Medical University
The English Division of Warsaw Medical University was established in 1993 for students interested in studying medicine in English.
The Division offers two rigorous English language programs:
  • 6-year MD program of the Second Faculty of Medicine was established in 1993 ( for high school graduates);
  • 4-year MD program of the Second Faculty of Medicine was established in 1993 (for holders of a Bachelor’s Degree);
  • 5-year DDS program of the Second Faculty of Dentistry was established in 2012 (for high school graduates);
  • 5 year Pharm. D. Program of the Second Faculty of Pharmacy was established in 2014 (for high school graduates);
Above programs follow the European Union standards. At the end of each program the graduates are awarded an MD degree, DDS degree or Master of Pharmacy degree and receive a medical diploma recognized in the European Union, USA, Canada and most other countries of the world.
The curriculum of a 6-year program is comprised of 2 preclinical and 4 clinical years; the 4-year program includes 2 preclinical and 2 clinical years. Basic science and premedical training of the English Division students is provided in the form of lectures, seminars and practical classes by more than 70 departments and clinics of the medical University of Warsaw and those affiliated to the University.
Having completed the basic science part of the study program, the students are eligible to sit for the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination) Step 1 and, upon completion of the clinical part of the program, for the USMLE Step 2.
The Medical University of Warsaw offers a 5-year program in dentistry for high school graduates. At the end of this program the graduates is awarded a DDS degree and receive a diploma recognized in many countries. The curriculum conform the European Union standards of dental medicine. The graduates can continue their education.
The total duration of the 5-year dental program is 10 semesters, during which the students are expected to attend more than 5000 hours of lectures, seminars, and practical classes. The curriculum of English Dentistry Division covers 150 weeks (300 ECTS).
The five-year undergraduate pharmacy course leads to the degree of Master of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) and, after a further 6-month of pre-registration training in an approved pharmacies, to registration as a pharmacist. Polish registration is recognized in other member states of the EU.
The Faculty enjoys a national and international reputation for research and innovation. Upon completion of each year of the studies, students are required to take a 4 week summer practical training, which is mandatory and included in the curriculum. The practical trainings can be served in recognized institutions in the native countries of the students.
The Graduate obtain DMD degree and receive a diploma recognized in many countries. The curriculum conforms the European Union standards of dental program. The graduate can continue their education at the Medical University of Warsaw both as a scientist or as a teacher.
Admission to Warsaw Medical University in English
Admission to 4-year medical program, 6-year medical program, 5-year degree of Master of Pharmacy and 5-year Dental programs in English is based on high school certificate, bachelor diploma and  entrance exam  depending on program.
4-year medical program
The 4- year program is offered for college graduates having BSc degrees, who have completed their pre-medical education and have 1200 hours of pre-med courses, e.g. general chemistry (including labs), organic chemistry (including labs), biology, physics, maths (calculus), biochemistry, genetics, anatomy etc. There is no entrance exam. The application is done online.
6-year medical program in English: for high school graduates;
5-year degree of Master of Pharmacy program: for high school graduates;
5-year Dental program: for high school graduates;
Admission Requirements
The admission procedure for international students depends on high school diploma:
•Student with IB diploma – International Baccalaureate (IB issued by the International Baccalaureate Organization in Geneva, Switzerland) or EB diploma – European Baccalaureate (EB – issued to the graduates of the European schools for the employees of the European Union Institution only) are admitted to Medical University of Warsaw bases   on their high school diplomas and don’t have to sit for the entrance exam.  Registration is in general from   March to the middle of July.
•Student with High School Diploma other than IB, EB or “nowa matura” diploma (“new” Polish High School Certificate) must sit for the entrance exam.  Registration is open in general from   March to the end of April.
Language Requirements
English is the language of instruction at the English Division of Medical University of Warsaw; therefore appliquant must be proficient in speaking, listening, reading and writing English. International students who are not native English speakers must document their language proficiency by submitting the results of a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), IELTS (International English Language Testing System), or a Pearson PTE Academic score.
Student Visa Requirement 
Nationals of European Economic Area countries or from Monaco or Switzerland may move freely. They may travel to Poland on the strength of a national passport or identity card. All other nationalities should apply for a student visa (type D) with the Polish embassy or consulate in their current country of residence before leaving for Poland, if they want to stay in Poland for longer than 3 months.
